Timing pulley size regulations:
(1) The transmission belt is stretched on the pulley, so that the outer layer of the transmission belt is stretched, the inner layer is compressed, and the transmission belt is subjected to a "bending stress". Among them, the tensile stress of the outer layer has the greatest impact on the life of the belt. If the diameter of the pulley is too small, the tensile stress on the outer layer of the belt will increase, which will seriously reduce the life of the belt.
(2) When the transmitted torque is constant, the smaller the diameter of the pulley, the greater the friction that can be generated on the circumference. Therefore, the force of the transmission belt must be increased, and it is required to increase the number of belts.
(3) The diameter of the pulley is small, and the transmission loss is large, which reduces the transmission efficiency.
The size and diameter of the synchronous belt wheel should not be too small, and each type of synchronous belt has stipulated the minimum allowable belt wheel diameter. The synchronous pulley has the characteristics of high transmission efficiency, accurate transmission ratio, low noise, energy saving, and convenient maintenance.
Synchronous pulley characteristics:
(1) The transmission is accurate, there is no sliding during work, and it has a constant transmission ratio;
(2) Smooth transmission, with buffering and vibration reduction capabilities, and low noise;
(3) The transmission efficiency is high, up to 0.98, and the energy saving effect is obvious;
(4) Convenient maintenance, no need for lubrication, low maintenance cost;
(5) The speed ratio range is large, generally up to 10, and the linear speed can reach 50m/s, with a large power transmission range, up to several watts to several hundred kilowatts;
(6) It can be used for long-distance transmission, and the center distance can reach more than 10m.
(7) No pollution, can work normally in places where pollution and working environment are not allowed
